Unforgettable Digha

It was a rushing dawn. I had to wake up early to receive him from the station. The night before was a stunning experience. Danced my life in the disco, lost my cell phone from the lounge. Of course I made him mad as well ha-ha! On top of that, I did my assignment till 2 am wow ;-)
Anyways... So I got up, got ready, took a bus and whoosh...
Alone in the bus, nervous and excited, I was slowly reaching close to the station. Finally, I was there. I called him up, asked where he was waiting; he said I was on the right track. He was close to the place where I was looking for him. My eyes were desperate to have one glance of him. Just after a while, I saw him. We moved towards each other like an invisible force of attraction. When the distance faded away between us, we hugged. Oh! My life came back to me. He quickly booked a taxi and we headed towards the bus depot. Just as we stepped out of the taxi, our bus was waiting for us. Sure the time was right for us. We were all set for Digha!!

Oh re manwa tu toh bawra hai… kyu dikhaye sapne tu sote jagte…
Jo barse sapne boond boond
Naino ko moond moond
Kaise mai chalu, dekh na saku anjane raaste

The song of “Iktaara” added a special meaning to our journey. We did not know that we will get a time like this together. Sure we were crazy. We were taking our dreams together in those unknown roads to a place away from the crowd. I was amazed to see things getting real to me...
It was a pretty long journey. I dozed off on his shoulders, I did not even know how the time passed by so soon. I recaptured my senses and saw his face. “Oh, you are here, we are really going to Digha!” Ha-ha!
We were going along alright till suddenly the bus halted in the middle of the road. We were 25 minutes close to the place. But what happened? Heard that there was a strike going on. The bus won’t go any further. Alas! I was confused what was going to happen next. He got down from the bus and told me to stay inside. I was scared. He came back to tell me that we have to get off from the bus right away. I was reluctant to get off. Same was with all the rest of the passengers. The bus strode to go a lil’ further but… We had to get off after some time. No more dreams, this was reality… That also a shocking one!
What next? We took our bags on our shoulders and started to look for a lift. Lift? There is no lift in a village. Hardly could we see any cars on the way. Those which we saw did not wait for us. There were some scooter like carts over the road. Yeah, that was our only way out. As soon as one cart got ready, we all rushed to grab a seat. Thankfully, we both got our place on the cart. But he was painstakingly clinging to the seat as he was the tallest of the lot :-P
From AC to natural AC, we were all consoling ourselves that this cart is our life saver. The roads were so narrow, that we were riding against the thorny bushes. Imagine what was his condition lols! But it was fun all the way. We were passing the local people and they were looking at us with humor. Even I was smiley faced througho
ut the way. It did not matter how tacky the place was, it was an adventure.
After a long and painful journey of dust and thorns, we finally…Yes, finally reached our destination!
The first part was a dream second was an eye opener. I think the twist was necessary to add a spark to my trip. Anyway, all’s well that ends well…
